Panama recognized independent state of Kosovo

Kosovo Foreign Affairs Minister Skender Hyseni had a long and very friendly phone conversation with Foreign Minister of Panama Republic Samuel Lewis Navarro and has been informed that Panama has officially recognized Kosovo as an independent and sovereign country.

Foreign Minister of Panama Republic, who is also the Vice-President of Panama, has informed Minister Hyseni that verbal note of recognition will be sent to Kosovo Embassy charge-d’affairs Avni Spahiu in Washington by today.


During their conversation, ministers of both countries assured to develop and to further strengthen bilateral relations. Panama is the 54th country to recognize Kosovo’s independence.


Panama is situated in Central America; it is bordered by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, in between of Columbia and Costa Rica.
