The Republic of Niger and the Republic of Guinea Conakry recognize Kosovo’s independence

Prishtina, 16 August 2011 – The Republic of Niger and the Republic of Guinea Conakry have officially recognized Kosovo’s independence, increasing to 79 the number of states that have recognized the independent and sovereign Republic of Kosovo.

Verbal notes from these two African states recognizing the Republic of Kosovo were sent to Kosovo by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, who is currently on a tour lobbying for Kosovo’s recognition in many African states.
The Republic of Niger is in Western Africa and has a territory of about 1 million and 300 thousand kilometers square, being the largest state in Western Africa.

Niger is a developing state with about 15 million inhabitants.

The Republic of Guinea Conakry is also in Western Africa.  Previously it was known as French Guinea. This state has a population of about 10 million inhabitants which belong to twenty-four different ethnic groups. Guinea’s territory is about 250 thousand kilometers square.
