The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recognizes the Republic of Kosovo

Last night, Ambassador Khalid al Nafisse, permanent representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, in a warm conversation on the telephone, confirmed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Skender Hyseni that Saudi Arabia has officially recognized Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.

Conveying the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Saud Al- Faisal, to the leaders of the institutions of Kosovo, Ambassador Al Nafisse congratulated the people of Kosovo on their independence.

Minister Hyseni, thanked King Abdallah bin Abd- al- Aziz Alsaud, and Prince Al- Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for recognizing Kosovo’s independence.

Today, Minister Hyseni wrote a letter of thanks to his opposite number from Saudi Arabia, Prince Al - Faisal, in which he expressed, as well as gratitude for recognition, Kosovo’s determination to create close relations between the two countries and its readiness to establish diplomatic relations.

During the coming days, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will communicate regarding the institutionalization of bilateral relations.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the 58th country to recognize Kosovo.
