Ecuador seriously considers the recognition of Kosovo

Foreign Minister Mr. Skender Hyseni had a very friendly meeting with Ecuador representative in Vienna, Mrs. Maria Elena Moreira, whom he informed about the progress that Kosovo has achieved in all fields since the declaration of the independence on February 17, 2008.

Minister Hyseni has repeated and has expressed the need that Kosovo has to further recognitions in order to finalize the international recognition of the most recent state in world. ‘Kosovo may become part of all international structures, only with help of the countries all over the world, new recognitions are needed in order to do this. Ecuador, as an extremely important Central American country, with recognition of Kosovo Republic as an independent and sovereign country, would help Kosovo as a recent country and Kosovars on their path towards consolidation of institutions, democracy and economic development’, minister Hyseni has emphasized among others.
On the other side, Mrs. Maria Elena Moreira has ensured minister Hyseni that the government of her country has followed carefully developments in Kosovo, before and after the independence. She has underlined as important fact Kosovo recognition by the European Union countries, neighbors, as well other free and democratic countries of Central America. She said that Ecuador Government, considering these data, will seriously consider the request for recognition of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign country.
