Dominican Republic recognized the Republic of Kosovo

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo has received a letter, issued by the State Secretariat for International Relations of the Dominican Republic, the letter expresses its clear stand of the Dominican Republic on Kosovo.

Pristina, July 11 2009

The letter states: “The Government of the Dominican Republic, on the bases of its constitutional authority and in accordance with its practices and international norms for recognition of states has agreed to recognize the Independent Republic of Kosovo.

The Dominican Republic congratulates the authorities and the people of Kosovo for their achievements and establishment of the institutional structures that enabled the people of Kosovo to have a sovereign country internationally recognized”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo expresses its gratitude to the institutions and the people of the Dominican Republic, and shall work to intensify relations up to establishing of diplomatic relations.
The Dominican Republic is the 62nd country that has recognized Kosovo.
