Minister Pacolli praises Saudi Arabia’s support, requests support for increase of number of recognitions and expanding bilateral co-operation

Prishtina, 21 November 2017 – The Chargé d'Affaires of Saudi Arabia in Tirana, covering our country, Fayez Almeya expressed his appreciation, for the new government and readiness for comprehensive and unwavering support to Kosovo, to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, during a reception that the latter made to the Saudi diplomat at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the framework of this meeting, Foreign Minister Pacolli assessed as extraordinary Saudi assistance in all areas, beginning with early recognition, which defined another influx of Kosovo recognitions from other Arab and Islamic countries.

Furthermore, he requested that Saudi Arabia increases the number of Kosovo students in other branches such as medicine, engineering, etc., in addition to theological branches.

Minister Pacolli also requested for new cooperation agreements to be signed and the establishment of reciprocity in the free movement of citizens of both countries.

In the aftermath of the meeting, Pacolli deemed necessary the Saudi Arabia's increased commitment as a friend country in increasing the recognitions, asking for specific countries with which this country has excellent relations.

Minister Pacolli informed the guest with Kosovo legislation on foreign investment and requested the involvement in the Riyadh and Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, in order to bring Saudi entrepreneurs to Kosovo.

Minister Pacolli conveyed the invitation of the state of Kosovo, for the King and the heir Prince, to visit our country soon.

Saudi Arabia's Chargé d'Affaires, Fayez Almeyat, got to know Kosovo though certain acts of aggression impacting his country adversely, with the involvement of neighbouring countries and called for our state's solidarity against these acts. Minister Pacolli guaranteed support in these terms, in line with the attitudes of international community.
