Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo about recent developments in Macedonia

Prishtina, April 27, 2017 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo is following with concern the situation created in Macedonia and the reported attack on MPs and Journalists.

The MFA considers that such behaviors of violence and clashes against elected representatives in Macedonia are unacceptable and do not at all serve democracy, peace and stability to the neighboring country of Macedonia.

In the spirit of appeal of EU and US countries in Macedonia, we believe that all political actors will show the will to dialogue for the interest of all citizens regardless of ethnicity and not rhetoric that escalates the tense situation.

Violence does not help at all in resolving the created situation and the citizens of Macedonia are expecting of getting out of the crisis as soon as possible, and continuation of the process of functioning of institutions in democratic way.
