Qerkezi gets applauded in “Lucia di Lammermoor” from Italian audience

Prishtina, 7 November 2017 - Under the accompaniment of the applause of the Italian audience, and alongside renowned opera singers, Kosovo's soprano Marigona Qerkezi has made her debut in one of the biggest theatres in Italy.

With the role of the famous character of the Donizetti opera, Lucia di Lammermoor, she starred on Saturday night at the stage of "Teatro Petruzzelli", located in the Italian city of Bari. An audition realized two years ago, had given Qerkezi the leading role in the theatre production that is considered as the fourth largest theatre in Italy, reports "Koha Ditore". Qerkezi, who has interpreted the leading role of "Lucia di Lammermoor" that was conducted by conductor Antonio Pirolli, told the newspaper that the Italian audience had warmly welcomed her. In the production of "Teatro Petruzzelli", soprano from Kosovo has shared the scene with the baritone Ernesto Petti and mezzo-soprano Elena Traversi. Gianluca Margheri was also part of the cast in the bass voice. Gilbert Delfo, a renowned name in opera was the director of this opera.
