Agriculture products from Kosovo are presented in "International Green Week" fair in Germany

Prishtina, 15 December 2015 - Kosovo's agricultural products will be presented and put for sale in January in one of the biggest fairs in the world of agriculture in "International Green Week" fair that will be held in Germany. These products will come from 12 companies and their presence there will be made available with financial support from the Ministry of Agriculture, also supported by partners such as GIZ, Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency and Pepeco.

Companies from Kosovo that will be presented at this fair are: Agroproduct LLC, Hit Flores, Besiana, Frutomania, StoneCastle, Pestova, Abi Progress, Cooperative Krusha, Amo, Fungo F, Sole Kosova and Bodrumi i Vjetër.

MAFRD has already made all the preparations that these companies need to do in order to conduct a better presentation at this fair, by reserving the important space for exposing and selling their products at the fair. Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Memli Krasniqi stated that "participation in this fair comes precisely in the month of entry into force of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, which enables the lifting of customs duties on 2500 Kosovo agricultural products towards Europe".

Minister Krasniqi further added that he assessed this event as a good opportunity for penetration of Kosovo products in the European market. "This is a tremendous opportunity for you as a company that already created a huge potential, that found market in Europe to expand further your contractual relations. Therefore I believe that you will find co-operators in order to increase the exports to Germany but also in other European countries. Off course in the fair you will be able to sell your products and among others matters, this will be an extraordinary promotion for our products, for opportunities that our country provides", stated the Minister.

Minister Krasniqi added that "starting from next year, we will work along with businesses to have a concrete strategy for presenting our products in some of the most important international fairs that have an impact on sales of our products in the European market ".

He also stressed that the ministry is making efforts also in other forms to present the local products, which are expanding and are improving in quality. Minister also promised to increase the support of MAFRD for farms and processing businesses through grants in order for them to increase the production, quality and to open new jobs. At the fair, in stand of Kosovo will be 12 tables for presenting the products, at this meeting were determined by draw the presenting tables for each company.
