Brussels, 16 November 2021 - On the sidelines of the meeting of foreign ministers in the framework of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), which took place in Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Donika Gërvalla held separate meetings with her counterparts from Austria and Bulgaria.
During the meeting she had with the Austrian Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, Mr. Michael Linhart, they discussed the excellent cooperation between the two countries and the possibilities of deepening the partnership in areas of common interest, highlighting the exchanges between the two foreign ministries.
The topic of discussion was also the fulfilment of Kosovo's European agenda, and at this point Minister Gërvalla received the reconfirmation of Minister Linhart that Austria will support Kosovo in all processes, with special emphasis on concluding the visa liberalization process for the citizens of Kosovo.
On this occasion, Minister Gërvalla, thanking Minister Linhart for his unreserved support, stressed the importance of this spirit of support to be transmitted to skeptical EU countries that are influencing the delay of the visa process.
The parties also discussed Kosovo's commitment to strengthening international subjectivity and regional cooperation.
In the meeting she held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Mr. Svetlan Stoev, they talked about foreign policy, focusing on regional developments and the challenges that are accompanying the countries of Southeast Europe.
The two counterparts assessed that it is essential to strengthen the rule of law and fight corruption at the regional level. They also discussed the European Union enlargement process and the importance of making progress in this regard.
Minister Gërvalla also briefed the Bulgarian chief diplomat on the reforms being undertaken by Kosovo institutions towards fulfilling the European agenda.
