Prishtina, 11 November 2021 - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms Donika Gërvalla, received today in a joint meeting the Ambassador of Austria to Kosovo, Mr Christoph Weidinger and the Head of the Mission of the Czech Republic in Kosovo, Mr Pavel Bílek.
This meeting is a continuation of the initiative of the tripartite group of Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia, to include the Western Balkan countries in the policies, programs and activities of the European Union (EU), in order to advance on the path to European integration.
The parties discussed areas in which the Western Balkan countries need greater EU support. In this context, processes and projects that bring direct benefits to citizens were mentioned, such as visa-free movement in the region, green agenda, transport, innovation, youth programs, education and exchange programs, strategic communication, security and stability in the region and many other areas.
Minister Gërvalla expressed the readiness of the Government of Kosovo to be an active part in the initiatives that treat the countries of the Western Balkans as equal, where the EU is involved and from which the citizens benefit.
