The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, held a meeting with her Estonian counterpart, Minister Eva-Maria Liimets, in the framework of the meetings she is holding with chief diplomats and heads of state in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
The parties assessed that the relations between the two countries are very good and considered that bilateral cooperation should be deepened through political consultations between the two foreign ministries, in order to advance issues of interest to both countries.
They also talked about regional and European issues.
The parties agreed that deep reforms, especially in the area of rule of law, are needed to advance the European agenda. At this point, Minister Gërvalla emphasized that the main priority of the new Government of Kosovo is to strengthen the rule of law and that it is working hard in this direction.
For her part, the Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated her state's supportive attitude towards Kosovo. According to her, Estonia will support Kosovo's path towards the EU.
