Berlin, 10 January 2019 – The First Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Mr. Behgjet Pacolli, in the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Germany, Heiko Maas, today thanked Germany for the continuous support of this state for Kosovo and its citizens.
After initially congratulating for the presence of Germany in the UN Security Council for the two coming years, Pacolli highlighted that Kosovo would like to have more German presence through economy and its investors to the country.
The presence of Kosovo, by around 400.000 of its citizens in Germany, and the contribution of Germany to build the peace for 20 continuous years through Bundeswehr, and now through GIZ and the Innovation Camp in Prizren, it will only deepen the cooperation between our two countries.
Among topics of discussion between the Ministers Pacolli and Maas was also the support of Germany for conclusion of Negotiations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia by mutual recognition and membership of Kosovo in the UN.
Minister Maas also stated that he will support Kosovo in the process of visa liberalization, Kosovo’s membership to international organizations, while Pacolli encountered particular support to acceleration of proceedings for recognitions of driving licenses between Germany and Kosovo.
