Minister Hyseni asks the Vatican to consider recognition of Kosovo

During his stay in New York, Skender Hyseni, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, had a warm meeting with Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, the Vatican Secretary for Relations with States.

New York, 25 September 2009

Minister Hyseni told him about the general progress achieved in Kosovo, and the constitutional and legal standards which guarantee the rights and freedoms of all those who live there.

Recognition and the legal process relating to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, were also discussed. Minister Hyseni said that he had complete trust in the court, and in its impartiality, noting that it is a body of global legal importance.
