During the meeting, Minister Hoxhaj, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi, announced the news that the seat of the Diplomatic Academy of Kosovo will be in Prizren and listed the main reasons for this decision.

“The first reason has to do with the history of the city of Prizren; taking into consideration that throughout history, this city was seat to many diplomatic representatives from various states and that it has a long historical and cultural tradition to this end”, claimed Hoxhaj.

He further added that this decision is part of the Kosovo Government vision to develop the city of Prizren.

“It is the vision of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo that Prizren becomes an important centre of Kosovo’s state institutions of Kosovo and after the establishment of the University of Prizren, the Diplomatic Academy is the second institution of special importance that is seated in Prizren”, declared Hoxhaj.

The Minister also revealed the third reason of professional character, for this decision, made by the Government of Kosovo.

“This Academy will deal with the draw up of documents and strategic studies for Kosovo’s foreign policy, will organize training for diplomatic staff, who are part of the MFA, as well as other training for citizens of Kosovo and will also organize conferences, forums and seminars in the city of Prizren”, stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj.
