French and Kosovar authorities giving all efforts to locate poet Ali Podrimja

Prishtina, July 21, 2012 – Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo announces it has received the sad information from the Kosovo Embassy in France and French authorities for the loss of contact with Kosovar renowned poet, Ali Podrimja.

Podrimja was staying in France at the festival of poetry "Voix de la Méditerranée" in the city of Lodève and had lost contact with officials and colleagues of the festival since the evening of July 17.
 
Meanwhile, last contacts of the family and colleagues in Prishtina with Podrimja was in the morning of July 18 July.

Immediately after receiving the information, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj has communicated and raised this issue at the highest levels of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior of France, which resulted in mobilizing central and local authorities in France in search of poet Podrimja.

Minister Hoxhaj remains in contact with French authorities and the Embassy in Paris in order to help in any way possible in finding as soon as possible the possible location of Mr. Podrimja.

Meanwhile, immediately after being informed of the issue and the data of poet Podrimja, French authorities have engaged the gendarmerie of the city of Lodève and all other competent central and local authorities in taking all necessary measures to locate poet Podrimja.

Currently, the French authorities are deliberating the possibility of expanding the search not only in the city of Lodève but also in the suburbs and beyond.

The majority of Kosovo Embassy staff, the senior diplomatic and consular staff in France travelled to the city of Lodève in assisting with searches in locating poet Podrimja, and in order to keep in touch with local authorities and to follow the activities of finding poet Ali Podrimja.

Meanwhile, all activities of our Embassy in Paris are focused in communicating with central French authorities in finding the location of poet Podrimja as soon as possible.
