France supports strengthening of international subjectivity of Kosovo

Prishtina, June 26, 2012 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj has received a letter from newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Laurent Fabius.

Initially, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Laurent Fabius, thanked Minister Hoxhaj for note congratulating him on assuming the new position as the head of MFA of France.

“Rest assured that France will be on your side to help you in consolidating sovereignty and international legitimacy of Kosovo. The closing down of the International Civil Office and the future configuration of the European mission, EULEX, will be important stages that will return to Kosovo authorities to transform this into a success by promoting the replacement of the international presence with their own capacities”, reads the letter.

Minister Fabius also assured Minister Hoxhaj that France will support the commitment of the Kosovo’s Government regarding European Union approximation.

“To this end, the opening of the dialogue regarding Schengen visa regime liberalization is the first hope-giving step”, reads the letter.
