Ambassador Peci thanked President Grimsson for Iceland’s early recognition of the Republic of Kosovo noting that that act established the basis for very good relations and strengthening ties between the two friend countries.

He then continued by briefing President Grimsson on the progress achieved in Kosovo by placing a special emphasis on the integration of minority communities, relations with neighbours and the EU facilitated dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

President Grimsson deemed the accreditation of Ambassador Peci to Reykjavik as a historical moment for the bilateral relations between Kosovo and Iceland and offered his full support in fulfilling his mission.

He particularly supported the bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Ireland and the Republic of Kosovo in the field of economy, strengthening cultural relations and the cooperation in the field of higher education.

With this act of presenting the credentials to President Grimsson, the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Stockholm now also covers the Republic of Iceland as a non-resident diplomatic mission accredited to Reykjavik.
