Ambassador Lulzim Peci presents credentials to Latvian President

Riga, 08 May 2012 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, Lulzim Peci, a solemn audience at the presidential palace in Riga presented credentials to the President of the Republic of Latvia, Andris Berzins.

Ambassador Peci conveyed to President Berzins the salutes of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga.

Peci continued stating that Kosovo has now proved of being a stable country with functional multi-ethnic democracy and thanked President Berzins for the early recognition of the Republic of Kosovo and for the support of the Republic of Latvia.

The President of the Republic of Letonia, Andris Berzins, conveyed his salutes to President Jahjaga and stressed that Latvia and Kosovo has very good relations.

President Berzins gave special support to the bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Kosovo in the area of economy, defence and security, exchange of professors and students as well as of culture.

At the conclusion of the event, Ambassador Peci expressed his gratitude to President Berzins and his commitment in further strengthening bilateral agreements between the two friend countries.

Upon presenting the credentials to President Berzins, the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Stockholm covers the Republic of Latvia as a non-resident diplomatic mission accredited in Riga.

With the intention of strengthening the Kosovo’s international subjectivism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has intensified the process of establishing diplomatic relations with the stated that have recognized the independent and sovereign state of Kosovo, a process that will continue in the days to come.
