Minister Hoxhaj conducts series of meetings in Munich, with a focus on European agenda, implementation of SAA and security

Munich, 19 February, 2017 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj on the third day of his stay in Munich, Germany, conducted a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of different countries and organizations.

Minister Hoxhaj met the Secretary General of OSCE, Lamberto Zannier, with whom he discussed about European and global challenges. Hoxhaj informed Zannier about the achievements of Kosovo and our country's European agenda.

Kosovo's top diplomat also met the Foreign Policy and Security Advisor of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Christoph Heusgen, with whom he discussed about security challenges in the Balkans and Europe, Kosovo's European agenda and visa liberalization. Also, Hoxhaj met the German Bundestag deputy, Roderich Kiesewetter.

Minister Hoxhaj also had a bilateral meeting with Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboulgheit with whom he discussed about the support for diplomatic recognition of Kosovo and for supporting Kosovo in case of application for membership in international organizations.

“Munich Conference is one of the most important foreign policy and security forums, and during the day I had the opportunity to meet the Commissioners of the European Union, where I discussed about the reform implementation agenda in terms of SAA and for visa liberalization process. Also, I had the opportunity to meet with secretaries of the Arab League, Gulf States, and EU and with countries that have not recognized Kosovo. I have plead for their support regarding Kosovo's membership in international organizations and new recognition ", stated Minister Hoxhaj.

Minister Hoxhaj continued the intensive agenda of meetings with General Erhard Buhler, Senator Chris Murphy, European Parliament MP, Elmar Brok, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office of the British Government, Alan Duncan, and with the counterparts, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Linas Linkevicius, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, and the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the European Parliament, David McAllister, and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani.
