Prishtina, 3 March 2019 – The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, welcomed a letter received from his counterpart from the Republic of Columbia, Carlos Holmes Trujillo García, by which he is notified about the Decree on establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, an action enabling permanent communication of the highest level between the two countries also through exchange of Ambassadors.
This letter follows a meeting that the Kosovo Top Diplomat, Pacolli, conducted with the Foreign Minister of Columbia, Carlos Holmes Trujillo García, in the first part of February in Washington D.C.
“After a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Columbia, Carlos Holmes Trujillo García, last month, Kosovo and Columbia established diplomatic relations through exchange of Ambassadors. Kosovo will open its Embassy in Bogotá and Columbia will appoint a Non-Resident Ambassador accredited to Italy” said the second top Government official, Pacolli.
By opening the resident Embassy in Bogotá, the Republic of Kosovo aims non-resident diplomatic coverage and representation also in other states of that continent.
