Pristina, 27 January 2018 - Pursuant to the recommendations given by the U.S. Department of State and Center for European Perspective, the Director of Communications and Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Sami Kastrati, who previously served as Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the United States, was selected on the Steering Board of the Digital Diplomacy Project for Europe.
"We invite you to serve on a seat at the Steering Board. You have been recommended as an individual with a significant level of knowledge, experience, and dedication - all of these will serve as a valuable contribution to this Board. As a member, you will be expected to bring, within reason and limitation, your insights and opinions to help shaping this project and moving it forward”, it is said in the letter of invitation addressed to Mr Kastrati from the Digital Coordinator, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, Mr Matt Jacobs, and the Project Coordinator from the Center for European Perspective, Mrs Ingrid Omahna.
“My selection to the Steering Board of Digital Diplomacy for Europe is not only a recognition for me and the comprehensive efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on strengthening Digital Diplomacy, but also for the commitment of Kosovo and its citizens to embrace twenty-first century statecraft”, said Director Kastrati.
The project focuses on increasing member’s collective capacities to effectively operate within the digital information space and it will help to facilitate the development of strategic partnerships with international organizations, academia, think tanks, civil society and technology companies, in order to develop a strong cooperation on common priorities.
