Prishtinë, 5 October 2018 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo has received official confirmed information that the authorities in Serbia have apprehended another citizen of the Republic of Kosovo.
According to MFA information, the Republic of Kosovo citizen is being held in Belgrade, by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, providing the reasoning of war crimes.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers that the behavior of Serbian authorities towards the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo remains similar to Milosevic’s policies and considers these actions simply as a “witch hunt” to our citizens.
Serbian authorities, before dealing with the citizens of the neighboring state – of the Republic of Kosovo, should be dealing with their own Serbian citizens involved in war crimes, against humanity and other crimes in Kosovo, which they failed to do.
This is the best evidence that there is no sign of repentance, regret or apology in Serbia to the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, as it has not been the case with the citizens of other countries in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the northern neighbor to urgently stop the mistreatment, maltreatment and systematic violations of human rights against the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo calls on the European Union, the Quintet states and the International community to urgently warn the neighboring state for such behavior and seek immediate release of a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo.
