New York, 27 September 2018 – The Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Madagascar will establish diplomatic relations soon, being this the highest advancement level of diplomatic representation in both respective countries and they will organize an Economic Forum between the two countries.
This was the joint agreement between the Chief Diplomat of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Behgjet Pacolli, and his counterpart, the Foreign Minister of Madagascar, Dovo Eloi Maxime, after an official meeting, which was conducted on the margins of annual plenaries of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
“We agreed on prompt establishment of diplomatic relations that opens the path for the establishment of Embassies, organization of an Economic Forum and bilateral and multilateral cooperation. We will be together in the Francophone Organization and the General Assembly of INTERPOL, in the following weeks,” said the Foreign Minister Pacolli.
During this meeting, the second top Government official, Pacolli, thanked his counterpart also for the recognition that the state of Madagascar made at a very important moment.
“I told him that the recognition from his country came in a very important moment and we are grateful for that,” said the Minister Pacolli.
In meanwhile, the Foreign Minister of Madagascar stated that ‘by the recognition of Kosovo, we simply did what it should have been done, acknowledging its combat for freedom and independence.”
