New York, 25 September 2018 – The support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and of the 57 member states of this organization is extremely important for the full and equal membership of the Republic of Kosovo to INTERPOL.
This is what the Kosovo diplomat, Behgjet Pacolli, said, after meeting with the General Secretary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Yusuf Al Othaimeen, on the margins of many other official meetings being held in the proceedings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
“The Organization for Islamic Cooperation has always strongly supported the consolidation and integration of the state of Kosovo. Resolutions adopted in the past by the Council of Foreign Ministers of this organization calling for recognition of the state of Kosovo are the best evidence of this support. It is a pleasure to meet again the General Secretary of OIC, Yusuf al Othaimeen, following the meeting we had earlier this year in the Bangladesh capital/Dhaka. We thanked him for the so far support and asked for this support to be reflected in the process of our country’s membership to INTERPOL”, said the second top Government official, Pacolli.
The Organization for Islamic Cooperation has 57 member states, the majority of them have recognized the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.
