Strasbourg, 17 January 2018 – First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, during his stay in Strasbourg, has been hosted in a special meeting by the Secretary General of Council of Europe, Mr. Thorbjørn Jagland.
On this occasion, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Pacolli, informed the Secretary General of this Organization, Mr. Jagland, on the recent political developments in the country and presented the aim for continuing the membership of our country in International Organizations, including and considering as of special importance the full membership in the Council of Europe.
“During my visit in Strasbourg I had a substantial meeting even with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Mr. Thorbjørn Jagland, where we discussed for issues of common interest and I informed him of our aim to become members of this important organization for human rights and for steps which Kosovo and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have taken to achieve this aim. I have stated earlier that considering relevant procedures, we expect to become 48th ember of this organization by 2020”, stated Minister of Foreign Affairs Pacolli.
In the framework of visit in Strasbourg, Minister Pacolli met also Ambassadors of Permanent Representations from friend and partner countries of Kosovo, ensuring the support for this aim.
