Strasbourg 17 January 2018 – First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Behgjet Pacolli, during his visit in the headquarters of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, requested the support of Members of European Parliament to accelerate the visa liberalization, while reporting on the implementation of European Reform Agenda by the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo for Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
“During my visit in Strasbourg I requested the support of the representatives of European Parliament for unconditioned support for visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens, while reporting on the implementation of European Reform Agenda by institutions of the Republic of Kosovo on SAA.
Kosovo citizens deserve this fundamental right of free movement, as all other people of the whole region. Any other treatment to them strengthens the belief for inequality and second-class citizens, from which status we have suffered a lot during our history. This is the last time to move on and maintain the great pro-European sentiment that exists among Kosovo people. Delays nurture and push only dark forces. Let us act now”, stated the Chief Diplomat of Kosovo.
Current relations between the Republic of Kosovo and European Union, the level of organization of recent elections, the process of full normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, war crimes and reconciliation process in region and economic development have been several of other topics discussed in the Kosovo – EU Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee and which was attended by the member of parliaments of both sides.
During the stay in Strasbourg, Minister of Foreign Affairs met also Ambassadors of Permanent Missions of member states friend of Kosovo in Council of Europe, ensuring the strong support for our country in the process of membership within this Organization.
