Stockholm, 29 January 2018 – In the light of his visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, was hosted in a meeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Ms Margot Wallström.
Both chief diplomats from the respective countries highly praised the excellent relations between the two countries, by exchanging the views on the untapped potential and opportunities that could give new impetus to the growth and deepening of this cooperation.
“I had an important meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Sweden, Ms Margot Wallström. We reaffirmed the excellent relations that already exist between the two countries and the friendship between the two nations. I thanked her for everything that the Nordic state has done before, during and after the independence. Sweden will unreservedly support our path towards European and international integration, the visa liberalization process and projects that affect the improvement of the well-being of our citizens. There are still many unused opportunities at the bilateral level. We want and expect more Swedish investments in the country", said Minister Pacolli.
Implementation of the European Reform Agenda, the process of accelerating the integration into the European Union, dialogue with Serbia, Swedish support in United Nations during the two-year period as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, organization of an Economic Forum between the two countries, the Swedish Free Economic Zone model, were some of the other issues that were discussed at this meeting.
During the official visit to Sweden, Minister Pacolli met in separate meetings the State Secretary of the Ministry for International Cooperation and Development, Ulrika Modéer and representatives of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag), respectively, the Swedish-Kosovo Friendship Group.
