Foreign Ministry Receives Note Verbale from Guinea-Bissau Reconfirming its Recognition of Kosovo as an Independent Country

Prishtina, 2 February 2018 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo has officially received the note verbale from the Embassy of the State of Guinea-Bissau in Brussels, whereby it reconfirms its recognition of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, which was decided by the former President of Guinea-Bissau, Sh. TZ Malam Bacai Sanhá, on 10 January 2011.


The official confirmation of the note verbale to the Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo through diplomatic channels comes a few days after the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, presented the note verbale in a Kosovo television show. Guinea Bissau is located in West Africa with a population of over 1.7 million.
