Tokyo, 1 March 2018 - Starting from today's afternoon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the number two of the Government of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, began a two-day visit to Tokyo, the capital of one of the countries that has supported Kosovo the most during the years of Independence.
He held a meeting with his Japanese counterpart, with business community and celebrated the 10th anniversary of independence of Kosovo with Kosovo's friends in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
Accompanied by Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka, the chief diplomat of Kosovo will initially meet the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Hiroshige Seko.
Afterwards his Japanese counterpart, Taro Kono, will host Mr. Pacolli in a dinner.
During the meetings that will continue tomorrow as well, the Ministers of Government Kosovo, Pacolli and Lluka will seek comprehensive Japanese support in sectors such as energy and infrastructure in general, etc.
Japan, with nearly 130 million people, is the world's third-largest economy and is one of Kosovo's main donors.
Japan supports Kosovo in many global initiatives and in International Organizations. Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe recently announced the initiative for co-operation with Western Balkan countries.
