Prishtina, 25 March 2018 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Behgjet Pacolli, congratulated the Greek state and people on marking the anniversary of Independence, calling on the leaders of the institutions of this state to reconsider the recognition of the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign State.
“Today, Greece is celebrating the 197 anniversary of Independence. I wish to Greek people and representatives of the Institutions the most sincere congratulations for more prosperity, development and wellbeing. Kosovo and Greece share common democratic values and have a clear Euro-Atlantic orientation. Therefore, I invite the institutions of this country to reflect once again and recognize the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state”, said the chief diplomat of Kosovo.
“Greece does not have any reasons for not recognizing Kosovo. It has been a witness to all political developments in Kosovo and the region and no one can turn back the wheel of history. Out of five EU countries that do not recognize the independence of Kosovo, Greece must take the first step towards its recognition”, stated Mr Pacolli.
