Bilateral Relations and International Organization Department
The Bilateral Relations and International Organization Department is responsible for the Republic of Kosovos relations with all UN member states, except those in the region; and with international Organizations, including the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the Council of Europe (CE), the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations of a political character; and creating and maintaining the trust and support of the International Steering Group (ISG) and liaison with the International Civilian Office (ICO). The Department is responsible for developing bilateral relations with members of the International Steering Group and other EU and NATO member states, with the exception of states in the region, other non-regional governments and liaison with ambassadors of these states.
The Department also offers specific advice to the Ministers and Deputy Ministers Cabinet, the Permanent Secretary and diplomatic missions of the Republic of Kosovo.
This Department is organized and structured in two divisions: the Bilateral Relations Division and the International Organization Division.
The Bilateral Relations Division is divided into these sectors:
- Europe;
- America;
- The Middle East/Africa; and
- Asia Pacific
The International Organization Division is comprised of the Unit for the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Arab League and these sectors;
- UN/Specialized agencies; and
- Research, Initiatives, Monitoring and Multi-lateral projects
