Statement by Minister Hoxhaj on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the USA

Prishtina, 11 September 2011 – On the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack of 11th September 2001 on the United States of America, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, issued a media statement.

In the statement, Minister Hoxhaj expressed the pain and solidarity of the people of Kosovo for the victims and all people who suffered from this tragic event.

“The events of 11 September 2001 constitute the most serious terrorist acts against a state which is a symbol of democracy and freedom, and against the democratic values of the civilized world, threatening in the harshest way peace and world security”, said Hoxhaj.

Kosovo’s Foreign Minister said that these events which struck the American people and the whole democratic world marked a new phase in the commitment against terrorist threats.

“Ten years after these attacks, the United States of America and the civilized states of the world are stronger, more prepared and more united against terrorism, which is the greatest threat to our modern democratic society”, he said.

Minister Hoxhaj also expressed the solidarity and unwavering support of Kosovo’s people for the American administration and people, in memory of the victims of terrorism and the continuing struggle across the world to eliminate such threats wherever they are.

“The people of the Republic of Kosovo have now turned this anniversary into a day of memory and respect for the United States of America, a fundamental ally of the state of Kosovo”, stated the declaration given by the Kosovar Foreign Minister.

Hoxhaj reconfirmed the constant support of the Republic of Kosovo to fulfilling its obligations with its democratic state allies contributing successfully to the war against terrorism and so guaranteeing freedom, democracy and peace to the world.
