MFA welcomes the democratic transition in Libya

Prishtina, 22 August 2011– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo is following closely the recent developments in the struggle to bring down the dictatorial regime of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya.

The Government and people of Kosovo support the Libyan people’s struggle for freedom, dignity and democracy. The MFA of Kosovo wishes the Libyan people a peaceful end to the system and a calm transition, on the path towards national reconciliation and reconstruction of the country.

MFA is in coordination with Kosovo’s international partners so that in the weeks that come cooperation is deepened between the new authorities of Libya and the Republic of Kosovo, in order to speed up the process of recognition of the independent and sovereign state of Kosovo by the new Government of Libya.
