Established Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Honduras

Washington, 2 December 2010 - The Governments of the Republic of Kosovo and of the Republic of Honduras signed today a treaty whereby establishing the official diplomatic relations at the level of ambassadors.

Their respective ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the United States of America, ambassador of Kosovo, H.E. Avni Spahiu and ambassador of Honduras, H.E. Jorge Ramón Hernández-Alcerro issued a joint press release. The document cited that the Governments of the Republic of Kosovo and of the Republic of Honduras would promote mutual understanding and intensify friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The signing ceremony took place today in the Embassy of Honduras in Washington, DC. Honorary witnesses in the ceremony were prominent American Congressman Eliot Engel and Congresswoman Connie Mack. The ceremony was also attended by the representative of the State Department and diplomats from the countries of the region.
