Kosovo establishes diplomatic relations with Kuwait

Tirana, 16 January 2013 – On Tuesday in Tirana, a joint agreement was signed to establish diplomatic relations between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Government of the State of Kuwait.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Tirana, Sylejman Selimi, who is mandated by the Kosovo Government and the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Tirana, Najeeb Abdulrahman Al- Bader, signed an agreement establishing diplomatic relations between the two states.

The Agreement intends to promote relations of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries in politics, economics and culture, at the national and international level.

The two ambassadors said they were convinced that establishing diplomatic relations between the states was in the national interest of the two countries.

In addition, they confirmed their mutual commitment to supporting United Nations principles for consolidating peace and international security.
