Consultation with civil society about the establishment of the Diplomatic Academy

Prishtina, 22 November 2012 – On Wednesday in Prishtina, the Diplomatic Academy of the Republic of Kosovo organized a round-table with representatives of civil society, the academic community and the media, in order to exchange ideas and experience in the first phase of establishing the Diplomatic Academy.

In the roundtable, they addressed two key topics in the forum, the role of the Diplomatic Academy in building capacities in the Diplomatic Service, presented by the UP Rector, Ibrahim Gashi, and the inclusion of the Diplomatic Academy in building foreign policy, presented by Fisnik Halimi, lecturer at UBT.

In the beginning, the Academy Director, Albert Prenkaj, provided information about the legal framework and first steps of setting up and consolidating this institution, as well as the conceptual plan for 2013.

The topics addressed initiated an energetic discussion among the participants, coming up with many useful ideas, which according to Director Prenkaj, will be considered by the preparation team of this Diplomatic Academy.
