Hoxhaj thanks USAID for support given to Kosovo

Prishtina, 7 October 2012 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, met the Assistant Administrator of the Office for Europe and Euro-Asia in the United Nations Development Agency (USAID), Paige Alexander.

During the meeting, Minister Hoxhaj thanked Ms. Alexander for the USA’s extraordinary contribution and assistance given to the people of Kosovo through USAID.

Hoxhaj noted the great assistance that USAID has given to Kosovo since it started providing aid, up to the declaration of independence and the process of creating and consolidating the state, in all aspects. 

He emphasized the assistance USAID has given to programs consolidating civil and economic sectors, building and strengthening democratic executive, legislative and judicial institutions in Kosovo.

Hoxhaj thanked Ms. Alexander for USAID’s readiness to support the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo in various initiatives relating to the strengthening of diplomacy and the international subjectivity of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Assistant Administrator of the Office for Europe and Euro-Asia in the United Nations Development Agency (USAID), Paige Alexander, praised the progress being achieved in Kosovo, promising USAID’s continuing support in consolidating institutions and civil society in Kosovo.
