Minister Hoxhaj and Vice Minister Hamada signed on the occasion an agreement through which the Japanese Government offers substantial support for the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Considering the day as historical, Minister Hoxhaj, wished Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan a warm welcome calling him a great friend of Kosovo and a personal friend.

In this respect, Minister Hoxhaj said that Japan is a state that has strongly supported the reconstruction of a new and modern Kosovo and a state that has strongly supported the implementation of the Ahtisaari package, a package that has transformed Kosovo into a multi-ethnic and diverse society.

“On this historical day we are signing or rather saying we are exchanging verbal notes for entering into force of an agreement that intends to support the Philharmonics of Kosovo with musical instruments. It is part of the foreign policy that the Kosovo culture, values and identity are supported by our partners and friends like Japan,” said Minister Hoxhaj.

Meanwhile, after signing this agreement, the Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Kazuyuki Hamada, said that Japan is honoured to be part of the historical efforts made by the citizens of Kosovo to gain independence and to play their future role for prosperity and peace building.

“Kosovo and Japan are together in their efforts and ambitions to promote peace. Attending such a historical event we show respect for the people of Kosovo,” said Vice Minister Hamada and added that he felt honoured to sign this agreement and pointed out that culture, namely music and arts have a universal influence for the future.
