In the letter, Minister Hoxhaj states that Bastille Day marks the birth of the new values of humankind that made France an important state through the respect and promotion of freedom, equality and brotherhood (Liberté, égalité, fraternité).

“Since then, the spirit of new values has inspired nations and states throughout centuries for freedom and equality. Thanks to those values, France has given a crucial contribution to the statehood of the Republic of Kosovo,” reads Hoxhaj’s telegram.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo also points out that the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of France enjoy admirable bilateral relations.

“Your country has supported Kosovo in all its stages, from gaining of the independence to the building of a solid and functional state. Of course that we count on the continuation of the cooperation as we have entered a new stage of integration into the European Union,” said Hoxhaj.

He also stated that while the people of Kosovo are strengthening democratic institutions, the economy and the rule of law, they are grateful to France for their active support.

“Therefore, the relations between our two states are sacred. We believe that the friendly relations and cooperation between our states and our people will only advance further,” said Minister Hoxhaj wishing the French people happy celebrations in peace and prosperity also in the years to come.
