‘Metro’ Newspaper publishes the profile of Deputy Minister Selimi

Prishtina, July 9, 2012 – ‘Metro’- the world's largest newspaper and of free-of-charge format has published an extensive interview and a profile of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petrit Selimi, entitled "Selimi: Kosovo - a new Singapore."

Metro is published in 56 daily editions in 15 languages and 19 countries in Europe, America and Asia and is read by 17 million readers.

Deputy Minister Selimi is presented in a separate series of Metro's dedicated young leaders of Europe.

Prior to Selimi’s profile, Metro published the profile of the new French President, Francois Holland.

Metro's editorial profile notes "Kosovo is no state of scams and traffickers. This state that only 13 years ago was a victim of ethnic cleansing is being positioned as the new ‘cool’ state of the Balkans."

Metro names Selimi among the key people in the transformation of the Balkan whom it also calls as "The New Man of the Balkans".

Deputy Minister Selimi in an extensive interview talks about Kosovo's progress in the economy and creation of state, about models of economic development and the fact that Kosovo is a normal country with different advantages such as the low national debt but also with a rich culture.

A part of the interview is also dedicated to Russian accusations that Kosovo is training Syrian militants and to his experience in business and media.
