Minister Hoxhaj congratulates Secretary Clinton on the 236th anniversary of US independence

Prishtina, 4 July 2012 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, has congratulated the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton on the 236th anniversary of the declaration of the independence of the United States of America.

Through a telegram sent on behalf of the Government and the people of Kosovo, Minister Hoxhaj, has congratulated Secretary Clinton and the people of the United States of America on their Independence Day. 

“The 4th of July 1776 marks the declaration of the independence of the United States of America. At the same time, this date marks a new époque of life values, freedom and pursuit of happiness in the United States of America and other countries worldwide,” said Hoxhaj pointing out that the Republic of Kosovo is a witness of the values that the US has brought to the world. 

“While we are strengthening the democratic institutions, economy and the rule of law, the people of Kosovo remain eternally grateful to the United States of America for their active support. This support was not only expressed through the international recognition of Kosovo but also in making of a functional and solid state. Therefore, the relations between our two countries are sacred,” said   Hoxhaj.

Minister Hoxhaj expressed his belief that the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two states will only advance in the future. 

“On this festive occasion, I congratulate all the citizens of the United States of America wishing them a happy holiday in peace and prosperity also in the years to come,” reads the end of the letter by Minister Hoxhaj sent to the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
