Ambassador Kallaba presented his credentials to president Plevneliev

Sofia June 29, 2012 – The new Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Bulgaria, Shpend Kallaba, was received today with the highest state honours by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev, in which event he presented his credentials.

In a very friendly conversation, the Bulgarian President Plevneliev welcomed Ambassador Kallaba and expressed his conviction that the good relations existing between the two countries will deepen further.

Inter alia, President Plevneliev stressed that relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Kosovo are friendly and lasting relations.

He congratulated the people and the Government of Kosovo for the great achievements in the establishment sovereign, independent and democratic and multi-ethnic institutions being at the service of all citizens.

Ambassador Kallaba and Bulgarian President Plevneliev talked about recent developments in the Republic of Kosovo where the Bulgarian president stressed that his country remains committed to supporting the state of Kosovo to build democratic institutions.

Plevneliev added that Bulgaria will offer its full support for Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic path.

In his remarks, Ambassador Shpend Kallaba conveyed the greetings of President Atifete Jahjaga, and the most sincere congratulations of the people and of Government and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi.

Kallaba Ambassador stressed the purpose of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo that it continues to contribute to the deepening of relations with the Bulgarian state, based on the friendship and respect between the two nations and in further advancing peace in the region.

Kallaba also pointed out Kosovo's commitment to advancing diplomatic relations, increasing trade exchanges and enhancing cooperation with Bulgaria in education.

Kallaba ambassador said that Kosovo’s Embassy in Sofia will increase its commitment in terms of lobbying for recognition in line with the Strategy to increase the number of recognitions for the Republic of Kosovo.
