The Conference Session of the “Aspen” Institute Concluded in Kosovo

Prishtina, June 21, 2012 – The two-day conference of the prestigious institute “Aspen” is closed in Prishtina, financed by German and American government and in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo.

The conference, conducted under the title “The Future South East Europe Security Architecture: framework of issues” is the first event organized by the renowned American Think Tank.

Personalities who addressed the attendees of the conference were the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petrit Selimi. Over 30 various guests from the United Stated, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Turkey, Serbia, Croatia, etc., have discussed at different panels on the ethnical identity as possible security issue factors, non-traditional security risks, possible framework of regional collaboration, etc.

Guests at this conference were the FBI Director for the Balkans, the Director for the Balkans and Caucasus at the German Chancellor Office, Deputy Assistant of State Department, former Director of EUROPOL, German MP’s, academic professors from the University of Harvard, London School of Economics, directors for regional affairs from Macedonia and Croatia as well as Kosovo Assembly MP-s and directors of main Kosovo NGO-s.
