On his first day of the official visit to Japan, Prime Minister Thaçi met the President of Japan External Trade Organization

Prishtina, June 6, 2012 – The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, began today the official visit to Japan, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj.

On the first day, Prime Minister Thaçi met with Hiroyuki Ishige, President of Japan External Trade Organization.

At this meeting, they discussed on furthering the economic development between the two countries and the investment opportunities the Republic of Kosovo offers to foreign investors.

On this event, Prime Minister Thaçi informed Mr. Ishige about the concrete steps undertaken by the Republic of Kosovo in creating a more favourable environment for encouraging international investments in Kosovo and called on Japanese businesses to invest in Kosovo.

From his part, Mr. Ishige expressed his readiness and the readiness of the organization he leads in working closely with the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to inform Japanese businesses for the opportunities Kosovo offers.

During his stay in Japan, Prime Minister Thaçi will also meet with his Highness, the Heir Prince Naruhito. Meetings will also be held with the Japanese Prime Minister, Yoshihiko Noda, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Koichiro Gemba, and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Yokio Edano.
