Minister of Defense of Macedonia, Fatmir Besimi meets Kosovo’s Ambassador to Macedonia, Ylber Hysa

Skopje, 29 May 2012 – The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia, Fatmir Besimi held a meeting with the recently appointed Republic of Kosovo Ambassador to Macedonia, Ylber Hysa.

According to the MD of Macedonia, the excellent cooperation in defense between the two countries was confirmed, as well as the readiness of Macedonia’s Ministry of Defense and its Army to support the strengthening of the Republic of Kosovo’s defense institutions, by sharing experiences of defense reform.

Macedonia also indicated its readiness to support 2 to 4 cadets in the Military Academy in Skopje in the next academic year as candidates from Kosovo, and to support military exercises that will be held in Krivollak by the Kosovo Security Force.

They also discussed the possibility of sharing experience regarding new software applications for budgetary and logistical planning.

In the meeting, they also discussed the possibility of strengthening of cooperation and trust between the two neighboring countries in the future, and deepening further bilateral relations established in defense, as well as Macedonia’s affirmative position regarding Kosovo’s inclusion in all regional initiatives and cooperation in Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
