Minister Hoxhaj sends his condolences to his Italian counterpart after the earthquake in the north of Italy

Prishtina, 29 May 2012 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, sent a condolences telegram to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Giulio Terzi, after the earthquake which struck the northern part of Italy on Tuesday.

In the telegram, Minister Hoxhaj expressed the deep sorrow of the Government and people of the Republic of Kosovo, for the victims and those injured in the strong earthquake which struck Italy, our friend.

“In these difficult days, allow me on behalf of Kosovo’s institutions and people, to express our sincere condolences to you and the families of the victims and to pray for the quick recovery of those hurt”, stated the telegram.

The earthquake, with an intensity of 5.8 on the Richter scale hit Italy at nine in the morning on Tuesday, about 40km to the north east of the town of Bologna, and was felt as far as Venice. International media report that it has caused at least 10 deaths.
