Ambassador Lulzim Peci submits his letters of credentials to the President of Finland

Helsinki, 24 May 2012 – Today, in a solemn audience at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Sweden, Lulzim Peci, submitted his Letters of Credentials to His Excellency, Mr. Sauli Niinisto the President of the Republic of Finland.

Ambassador Peci extended greetings to President Niinisto from the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Atifete Jahjaga and her wish to further strengthen the excellent relations between the two countries. Ambassador Peci thanked President Niinisto for the comprehensive support Finland has given Kosovo, and emphasized that the relations between the two countries are a high priority of Kosovo’s foreign policy. In continuation, he informed President Niinisto about the comprehensive progress achieved in Kosovo and challenges relating to relations with Serbia.

President Niinisto extended his greetings to President Jahjaga and emphasized that Kosovo has a special place in the heart of the Finnish. He said that relations between the two countries are of a special character and assured Ambassador Peci that Finland will continue to strongly support Kosovo.

At the end of the audience, Ambassador Peci expressed his gratitude for President Niinisto’s support and his determination to further strengthen the excellent relations between the two countries based on an already strongly rooted friendship.

With the submission of his letters of credentials to President Niinisto, the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Stockholm now covers the Republic of Finland as a non-resident diplomatic mission, accredited in Helsinki.
