Austria strongly supports Kosovo’s European perspective

Prishtina, 17 May 2012 – Today, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Ibrahim Gashi, held a meeting with a delegation from Austria, led by the Deputy Speaker of the Austrian Parliament, Fritz Neugebauer, a delegation which is on an official visit to Kosovo.

In the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Austria and the reforms Kosovo is undertaking for European integration and Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic perspective.

Deputy Minister Gashi thanked the Austrian representatives for the continual support Austria has given and continues to give to Kosovo’s state-building and strengthening its international subjectivity.

Gashi informed the Austrian delegation about Kosovo’s integration, the continual progress being achieved by Kosovar institutions and society to this end and future steps for realizing Euro-integration aspirations.
 
Meanwhile the Deputy Speaker of the Austrian Parliament, Fritz Neugebauer expressed Austria’s strong support for Kosovo, with special emphasis on its European perspective.

“I was in Kosovo in 2009. Since then, I see big changes. We will support Kosovo on its European path. Europe is not complete without the integration of the Balkans in the European Union”, said Neugebauer, during his meeting with Deputy Minister Gashi.
