MFA supports the academics’ and theologians’ conference dedicated to the anniversary of Constantine the Great

Prishtina, 15 May 2012 – American University in Kosovo (AUK) in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Kosovo and with the financial support from Tony Blair Foundation and the Norwegian Embassy, organizes a scientific conference on religion and politics in the region.

The conference will bring together world-renowned academics and theologians to discuss the religious legacy and tradition on the Balkans and the impact of religion in shaping the political path in the region.

During the two-day conference which commences today, academics and guests, including the deputy imam of Indonesia, Muhyidin Junaidi; representative of  Saint Egidio association from Vatican, professor Andras Riedlemayer from Harvard; professor Ivo Banac from Yale; professor Zef Mirdita from Zagreb; representatives of three religions in Kosovo, and dozens of other from around the globe will be discussing three different topics in connection with the approaching anniversary of the Milvian Battle and the legalization of Christianity in the Roman Empire by the Emperor of Illyrian origin, Constantine the Great.

This conference will be attended by professors from the universities of Yale, Harvard, Boston, Zagreb University, and the conference has brought together renowned religious ecumenical faces from Kosovo, Indonesia, Romania, Egypt, USA, Britain, etc.
